DESCRIPTION:Thirty HHH Child Advocates heard Monica Farias describe how her Catholic Charities’  Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Program (URMP) has been caring for and nurturing \nvulnerable immigrant youth who have entered this country without parent or guardian.\nThese children may be refugees, asylees, entrants, or victims of human trafficking.\nFarias stressed that URMP’s goal is to ensure children and teens are placed in safe\nand loving homes as they begin a new life in this country. URMP Staff places younger\nchildren in the care of foster families while older youth between the ages of 18 to 23\nreceive assistance in independent living environments.\n
