SUMMARY:Hope Heart & Home to Host Lesline Anglade, Florida DCF Director, Child Protection on Apr 13 2026 Speaker Series
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating April Child Abuse Prevention Month\n        HOPE, HEART & HOME\n              2026 Speaker Series\n                            Proud to Host\n            LESLINE ANGLADE\n         Florida DCF Director, Child Protection\n                 Monday, April 13 @ 6:45 PM\n\n\nLESLINE ANGRADE is a first-generation Haitian American with 20 years\nexperience in the Child Welfare community in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.\n2003-Present as DCF Child Protection Director. BA Political Science, FSU 2002\nJD, Nova Southeaster 2006. Board Chair, Little Haiti Revitalization Trust\n\nIt is estimated that there are 3.3 to 10 million children who witness the\nabuse of a parent or adult care giver each year. Most of the studies done\non the co-occurrence of domestic violence and child maltreatment reveal\n that there are adult and child victims in 30-60% of families experiencing\ndomestic violence. This co-occurrence has compelled child welfare and\n domestic violence programs across the nation to re-evaluate their services\n and interventions with families experiencing both forms of abuse.\n\nThe Child Protection Investigations (CPI) Project represents a collaborative\neffort between the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF),\nthe Office of the Attorney General (OAG), local certified domestic violence\ncenters, community-based care agencies, and other child welfare professionals\nthat provide an optimal coordinated community response to families\nexperiencing the co-occurrence of domestic violence and child abuse.\n\n The goal of the CPI project is to bridge the gap between child welfare\nand domestic violence service providers to enhance family safety, create\n permanency for children, reduce removals of children from non-offending\n parents, and hold batterers accountable.\n\nIn 2015, the Legislature expanded the CPI Project to all 67 counties in Florida.\nAs of 2025, there are a total of 41 certified domestic violence centers\nparticipating in the CPI Project.\n\n
