September 2023 Monthly Meeting with Liz Anon
Liz Anon has been in child welfare for over 34 years. With a BA from
FIU and a law degree from UM, she started in 1989 as an attorney for the Dept.
of Health and Rehabilitative Services, which later became the Dept of Children
and Families. She began as a junior attorney handling dependency cases, and
was later promoted to managing attorney.
After leaving DCF, Liz represented parents for approximately a year, which she
believes rounded her as an attorney and prepared her to work at His House as In-
House Counsel. She has been at His House for almost 19 years and considers
herself a passionate child advocate.
Married for 33 years, Liz worships at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church
in Doral where she serves as an eucharistic minister.
